This Privacy Policy explains how NovaSolar AI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Blue Nova Solutions.
Account information. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email if you choose to hide your email). You can also use the app without signing in.
Property and roof information. The home address you enter, the coordinates we derive from it, and any roof photo you upload or that we capture via satellite imagery (Apple MapKit) for the purpose of estimating your solar potential.
Lead / quote request information. If you request a quote from an installer, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and the property details relevant to that request, so we can pass them on to the installer(s) you selected.
Usage and energy data. Self-reported figures such as annual electricity consumption, which you may enter to improve the accuracy of your savings estimate.
Subscription status. Whether you have an active Premium subscription, verified through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Apple.
When you request a roof analysis, the photo (or satellite image) and a description of your property are sent to our backend server, which forwards them to OpenAI's API to generate an estimate of your roof's solar potential, energy production, and savings. OpenAI processes this data solely to return a result to our server and does not use it to train its models on our current commercial terms. We do not send your name, email, or phone number as part of this AI request — only the property/photo data needed to produce the estimate.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use advertising trackers in the app.
Lead and quote-request data is retained for as long as needed to connect you with installers and for our own business records, or until you ask us to delete it. Roof photos you upload are processed and are not permanently stored beyond what is needed to generate your result.
Depending on where you live (including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
